Charlotte Perriand studied interior design at the Ecole de L’Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris from 1920 to 1925. Her early rejection by Le Corbusier with the infamous phrase, "We don’t embroider cushions here," did not deter her. Instead, she began a fruitful collaboration with Le Corbusier in 1927, alongside Pierre Jeanneret, creating iconic furniture pieces like the Chaise Lounge.
