The Ice Transparent Soup Bowl by Denis Guidone shows how a humble daily gesture, serving a soup, can become a refined visual ritual with a refined bowl. Made in centrifuged glass, the bowl is both light and resistant, with a crystalline surface that reveals the textures and colors of what it contains. Rather than imposing its own style, it frames the dish like a lens, celebrating flavor, color, and consistency. Hot minestrone, velvety purées, or chilled gazpacho all gain a new stage, where transparency enhances their natural beauty.
Guidone designed this piece with Ichendorf to adapt seamlessly to multiple contexts. In winter it embraces steaming broths, in summer it presents fresh cold soups or fruit salads with equal grace. Its delicate proportions make it suitable for everyday family meals, but also for sophisticated mise en place where elegance is required. Dishwasher safe at low temperatures, it combines artisanal finesse with the convenience demanded by modern life, proving that refinement can coexist with functionality.
The Ice collection is built around a clear philosophy: reduction, purity, and balance. Guidone strips the form of excess, leaving only the essential. This soup bowl embodies that vision: its transparency allows food to play the starring role, while the glass itself quietly contributes clarity and light. Each curve reflects a pursuit of equilibrium, a silent design language where the object does not dominate but harmonizes with its content.
The Ice Transparent Soup Bowl finds its place within coordinated tablescapes when paired with Ichendorf pitchers and jugs, other Denis Guidone x Ichendorf products, and WD Lifestyle tumblers. Together, they create a table where every element speaks of simplicity, transparency, and contemporary elegance. Used individually, the bowl is already a statement: a functional piece of glassware that transforms everyday dining into a small work of art.
