Studio Klass
Studio Klass and the Evolution of Contemporary Design
Studio Klass, founded in Milan in 2009 by Marco Maturo and Alessio Roscini, has established itself as a dynamic force in contemporary industrial design studio practice. The duo explores the intersection between research, functionality and visual culture, working across sectors such as furniture, office furniture, and home accessories. Their approach to product design focuses on clarity and usability. Rather than simply shaping objects, they ask deeper questions: how can design improve everyday experiences? How can materials and form transform the way we interact with objects?
Collaborations and Iconic Projects
Over the years, Studio Klass has collaborated with leading international brands such as UniFor and Citterio. One of their most recognized creations is the Touch Down Unit, an innovative workstation developed for UniFor. Positioned between architecture and workstation design, the project introduced a new concept of mobility within the modern office. Instead of a static desk, the Touch Down Unit reimagines the office workstation as a flexible hub for collaboration, focus and movement, redefining contemporary office furniture design.
Recognition and International Influence
The impact of Studio Klass has been widely acknowledged by the international design community. Their work has received prestigious awards including the Red Dot Award, the iF Design Award, the German Design Award, and the ADI Design Index. Since 2020 the studio has also served as creative director for UniFor and Citterio, shaping brand identity, product vision and communication strategies. In 2025 and again in 2026, the studio was included in the AD100, recognizing the most influential figures in global architecture and design.
Today, Studio Klass continues to push the boundaries of contemporary design. Their work reflects the evolution of modern Italian designers, where research, experimentation and cultural awareness converge. In a world filled with objects, their projects demonstrate that intelligent product design can still inspire curiosity and redefine the way we live with design.
