ISABELLE DE BORCHGRAVE
The Belgian painter and sculptor Isabelle de Borchgrave was born in Brussels in 1946 and at the age of 14 she began to work at the Centre des Arts Décoratifs and later at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Soon after she decided to open her atelier, La Tour de Bébelle , where she made clothes and scarves but also jewelry, accessories but also fabrics. She then abandoned fashion to focus mainly on the design of fabrics and furnishings, such as linens and ceramics for the home. After visiting the Metropolitan Museum in New York in 1994, she began designing paper costumes, an inspiration that immortalized her name from the fashion world. She collaborated with Serax Brand creating a collection of vases and ceramics for the table.
